Equipment

The equipment in C-CINA includes a full wet-lab for membrane protein expression, purification and characterization. It also includes these instruments:

FEI Titan Krios

• 80-300kV, FEG, LN2-cooled stage for 12 grids, Ultrascan 4000 (4k CCD), Tridiem GIF (Ultrascan 1000, 2k CCD)

FEI Polara

• 300kV, FEG, Helium Stage, TVIPS F416 (4k CMOS Camera)

Will be installed in Summer 2011.

Philips CM200FEG

• 200kV, FEG, Ultrascan 1000 (2k CCD), GIF

Philips CM10

• 120kV, LaB6, TEM, CCD

FEI T12

• 120 kV, CCD, Autoloader

FEI Quanta-200 with Gatan 3View

contributed by the FMI.

• serial block-face SEM, with a physical ultra-microtome inside of environmental SEM chamber

Zeiss Axio Imager and Instec cold stage

• Zeiss Axio Imager fluorescence light microscope fitted with an Instec CLM77K cold stage. Capabilities include imaging of TEM grids at temperatures down to -196 degrees Celsius
